Testimonials
"Having not played netball since 16 years old (I'm now a mother of 4 and 41) I was welcomed into Dunmow netball club and quickly picked up the rules and regained my confidence. I have loved playing and training with the club for 4 years now and never looked back! I have made some lifelong friends and feel that I am much more a part of the community in Dunmow Town." -- Katy Presland (Goal Shooter/Goal attack)
"A mum from my daughters primary school, asked me and a friend if we wanted to come along to a 'back to netball club'. We both decided nervously to go along together and try it out. We both came away afterwards feeling excited to return the following week. That was 4 years ago. I am now the team captain and play to win! I have met some fantastic friends along the way in the sporting and social events run by the club, and hope to meet more in the future. Bring on the Purples summer camping weekend! " -- Sharon Rodgers (Goal Keeper)
"I have been playing netball for 4 years now. I started as a back to netball mum who had not played for nearly twenty years. As soon as i got on the court it all came flooding back. I didn't realise until the whistle went for our first game just how much of my competitiveness had stayed with me. I have met a great bunch of people from all professional backgrounds, and we have a great time. Not only have i gained some gt friends my children have got alot of new friends too. We arrange to go camping together and have nights out. Its like having a new lease of life as i enjoy running around playing and keeping fit at the same time. Its so nice to make new friends who have got things in common we LOve netball and we love nights out with alcohol." --Tracey Davies (Wing Defence/Centre)
"I originally started playing in the Basildon League when my school PE teacher asked me to join her team almost 30 years ago, at that time I played WD. A few years later I moved to a local team in Elsenham and played in the Bishop Stortford League (I think I played WA for them) I then moved to work and live in London and started playing football instead as there didn’t seem to be any organised netball teams (I’m sure there are now but we are talking 1990’s). It wasn’t until I was running the Netball club at school and a Mum (thanks Emma) approached me to see if I’d be interested in joining them starting an new club in the area. That was 5 years ago and almost 20 year since I had last played. I have joined many gyms and wasted a fortune in paid fees and trendy workout gear that never got used. Now I look forward to the games and the training sessions and get really grumpy if I don’t get to chuck a ball around for a few weeks. I seem to have ended up playing either GD or GA, but I really don’t care where I play so long as I can play". -- Karen Walace (Goal Defence/Goal Attack)
