News from Great Dunmow Netball club
Our assesment result came back! We were hoping for division 11 (up from our division 13) but were placed
in division 10! Whoop Whoop! So with trembling knees, and chattering teeth
we look forward to playing some great games in the Winter League.
Our Captain Sharon is recovering from her fall where she severely sprained her right hand and
required 20 stiches to her upper lip area. Unfortunately, this has knocked her out of the rest
of the summer league games, but hopefully she will have made a full recovery in
time for the Winter season.
The AGM date has been changed to the 18th July (Wednesday). 7pm
start at the Angel and Harp I believe (will keep you posted on this).
Lovely to see Julie and Tim with their new addition Isla Harris at the Dunmow Games! Can we
have an updated pic Julie, she must have grown out of that purple hat by now!
We now draw to the end of our Summer league games with some of us (i.e me) looking forward to the summer break of long fingernails (I'm very excited about this - how sad am I). Man of the match awards have gone to Sharon Rodgers,Karen Wallace, Dawn for,Tracey and Julie. Then onto Sharon again (greedy girl)! (I think we need to up our game for versatility attack :-) The defence has nicked
all the man o match awards!
Kit organisation has been great thanks to Julie, and sizes etc are in. Excited to try it on when it arrives!
Despite the torrential rain (with an hours relief) and the fact that most of us are engrossed in Fifty Shades, the Dunmow games went ahead. Great turnout from the purple netball team (albeit my 1 hour visit in the sun time) and a reasonable amount was collected from our stall for charity and the club. Well done in particular to Julie, Kath and Tracey for bearing the brunt of the weather, setting up and manning the stall! Fab to see Sharon, who supported the stall all day, despite still being in recovery.
