About Us
Great Dunmow Netball began as a ‘mums back to netball club’ as a chance for Dunmow ladies to have an outlet from their normal lives, to make friends, and get fit. Originally set up by a local Mum (Alison Moscuzza) with a keen interest in fitness and netball, the club was a great way of bringing ladies of all ages together to enjoy something other than family life.
Many who joined had not played since school, so training and playing games were fun but erratic. It was decided at our annual general meeting (AGM) that we like to improve our play and move towards competing in the Chelmsford league. We then enlisted a qualified coach, Davina, who has helped us improve our techniques and skills (as well as our fitness!) 100%.
We entered the Chelmsford league and have been playing competitively for 3 seasons. We are all committed to training and playing as many matches as we can.
As a club, we have obtained sponsorships, raised money for charity (the NDCS) and club equipment and won awards. We have been on weekend netball tours, family picnics and camping weekends, social nights out (meals/drinks/Christmas parties) and league related social events.
